Some women just like men in uniforms. That's not my thing and I don't get it myself, but I don't believe the motives are really materialistic...

Is she single? I am going to have to read it again because I thought she said she had been married for ten years and has three kids...

This leads me to believe she is still married unless she says after having been in a marriage for ten years and now divorced, etc...

I confessed to cynicism.

And you're right, it could be men in uniform... though that whole mentality is absolutely foreign to my brain. Perhaps she'd settle for law enforcement or a fireman? Metermaid?

Yes, I AM cynical, but I know some military guys and have heard stories. It just seems uber-odd, that she just wants a military guy. Why not an engineer? Why so specific?
Although I agree with you, most of those guys rush into marriage because if the wife is working, their own income doubles..it goes both ways.

For your information (and as someone who has been in the military for 7 years), men are skeptical of women that love military men. Without the military, we are still men. That's like saying, "I like electricians." Most people want to be liked for who they are, not what they wear or what job they have.

lol...You cant find a military man?
I get them all the time..Sometimes I joke with friends stating that I must have "Military men come and get it" on my forehead...lol

They are everywhere, all branches..lol..
You stated one point of awareness that you may have missed...
"I have 3 beautiful girls, relocating would be hard for me as I am a childcare provider"
Good luck...
When seriously involved with a military man always is not forever...it is not their fault...this is the price that is paid when in the military...
You can run into a man at a local joint and he has been stationed at his current base for 9 months to one year however this DOES not mean he will stay there...
It is common to get deployed at a whim or every 2-4 years depending on the rank, MOS and need...
So what may seem like a good deal and he stated he is stationed here for four years can rapidly change into one year, then what?
Are you willing to uproot your girls after a year of being with some guy?

The military is very unpredictable..Former military wife here..I was married for ten years and have been deployed many times..
Thank goodness he was the father of my son because god knows I would not uproot my kid for just any man..
This means..moving..unpacking..getting your girls enrolled in new schools..getting to know the area, finding out what job opps are out there for your respective fields..and so forth..
And let me tell you the child care field? Can be extremely picky...take it from a former early childhood specialist..degree and all..some states are so irresponsible with how they equate "quality"
I know I was blown away..
Not to mention once you get settled with a school you actually like, make friends, kids are on a schedule and make friends...umm..it's time to go..unless you are willing to let your man move 2 states away and see you 2x a year when they take leave and it is approved for 14-21 days.
It is not for everyone especially if you have children already that are not useto this sort of life..
It is not for everyone that cannot stand seperation..
It is not like these guys can call in sick or say.."Hey my wife has a job and the girls are sick I am staying home"
This is a committment..
