Women who complain their spouses don't do enough around the house now have some real proof.

Married men worldwide report doing less housework than unmarried cohabiting men, according to an international study of 17,636 men and women in 28 countries. Findings are published in the September issue of the Journal of Family Issues.

In the study by researchers at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., and North Carolina State University in Raleigh, cohabiting men report doing more housework than married men, and cohabiting women report doing less housework than married women, although cohabiting men still do less than cohabiting women.

I just finished cleaning the house, doing dishes and prerairing for dinner tonight, earlier I washed my PU, polished my motorcycle and went shopping.
We share most of the work, the one thing that amazes me is when we are both working days and my wife comes home and cooks, that is just about impossible for me to do, I cook on my days off.
I will agree some men don't do as much as the women when it comes to house keeping.

My husband is not the typical male (thank god)

He helps around the house (w/o me asking) or if he sees me doing something he is right there asking "do you need help?"

I have the man that my friends constatnly ask "does he have a brother?" LOL nope..God broke the mold w/my baby.. and I'm keeping him for myself..

Love you Mr. J.. xoxoxo

A lot of times I think it's just men and women have different standards. Most men like to live in a clean home. Women, for the most part, prefer their home much, much cleaner. They frequently have much higher standards.

So it's not that men aren't contributing around the house, they are. It's just that women frequently CHOOSE to clean when it's not necessary. Most men prefer to do other things with their spare time.

The key is to find the appropriately compromise. Divide up the chores evenly, then if one partner wants the home cleaner than what's necessary then they can contribute their time appropriately.

Other than some couples I know who have pre-determined agreements as far as who does what, the results of this study don't seem anywhere near right for those couples I know or have known.
