Well, you don't have to actually answer that. But the latest Time Out had this article on Sex and Dating.

I know Time out recycle materials, and this is a hardly new topic. But this midwest transplant feels particularly prudish when 24 years old has 150 as her number... Now I understand that if you break it down as 2 a month, it doesn't look like a high number. But it still doesn't strike me as particularly safe or healthy...

so, let's discuss. What's the right balance between prude and $lut? Do you care?

We are entering the Brave New World of relationships. Meaningless sex, hook-ups, relationships are the norm. Sex is not the magical, special, sacred union; it has become as ordinary as urinating or defecating. Sex photos, videos, magazines, songs, art, novels, toys, etc. We are bombarded with sex (hardcore + softcore) and are subjected to behavior programming. The NSA lifestyle that we are witnessing today was a rarity before TV/Media existed. I believe that NSA exists more in cities than in suburban areas due to the human population density.

There is no right balance. Life is an unique experience. The issue is that we are a herd society and we subconsciously mimic the behavior that we see in the media and society. The real ? is whether these people are having all these sexual partners out of real need (ie: not trying to emulate what they see on TV or compete with friends. The ego is not reason. This is an organic urge/need.) or they feel like they have to in order to feel adequate/relevant/keep up with the Joneses.

Do i care? Yes! IMO, the more partners you have the less likely you are to be happy with 1 person. Whether, humans were meant for monogamy is another question up for debate.

I stopped keeping count after I turned 30. I don't even want to estimate but it's probably nowhere near as high as some others I know.
