Although we have not made it official, I have been seeing a girl for several months now and there is a substantial age difference (just over 20 years) between us, with me being the younger one (25).

It is not a bull**** fling either. It is a legitimate relationship.

Thanks you two! There is a member or two here who is friends with me on Facebook and I figured when the relationship status changed, the "OMG BOSCO COMMITTED!" thread would get started. I guess I let the cat out of the bag a little early lol.

Thanks! It is crazy! This guy is older than my Mom, granted, she is only 15 years older than me. But this guy so far is great. It is surprising to me. I just considered him a friend, well, he kissed me...and now we are "dating".

Good thing you guys support me...

I haven't seen too many extreme age differences - like a 25 year old woman with a 50 year old man - if I did I'd probably just think it was a father and daughter, or two people not in a relationship, unless it was obvious that they were. It's totally possibly they just are the loves of each other's lives, but just as possibly there's less 'savoury' reasons. Either way it's their business. They're both adults, so why judge?

What does annoy me is when people say that they only date much only people because they find people their own age too immature. It smacks of superiority, and methinks it just sounds better than saying 'I have daddy issues' .

I'm not ageist as long as we are compatible and want the same things in relationship. I'd like him to be older than 18 though and young enough that he's not gonna die tomorrow.

I might be curious how it started as I would with any couple, but other than that, it's fairly common these days.

From a lot of experience with this, let me tell you that if the girl is a total sex pot, its better to leave her to guys her own age. It may be pretty exciting when you are 44 and she is 22, but when she is 40 and you are 62, its tough to keep up.

If she has a little more relaxed libido, everything can work out fine.
