I realize that most of you are probably urban and suburban dwellers, with a few rural folks tossed in here and there for flavor. As such, I'm not sure that I'm capturing any sort of a target audience but what the heck, I'll ask anyways. How about some brainstorming on how to date in a fairly extreme rural environment?
Please don't suggest I move. That's not happening. I love it here.
I live in a very small town now. The population is only around 900. I have resolved to not dating anyone around here lol And plan to move.
Only other option I see, is what's been mentioned above. Start up a LDR with someone who likes you enough to come to you.

Well I had not considered that, to tell you the truth. But I guess there would be no difference in dating a fisherman or whatever from the SE than someone who lives here and works up on the slope... both gone all the time. I tried online dating and decided it wasn't for me, but maybe I need to bite the bullet and try it again.
What else? This cannot be the only option besides moving and dating members of my own family.
I believe that many folks like you move south for the winter to a town full of outdoorsy adventurers, find a mate, then convince him or her to go back north.
Hang out at whatever local watering hole there is in your small rural community and see if you meet someone you like? Be involved in your small town rural church, or other community social clubs or events to meet other potential singles within a reasonable difference?
Although the pool of eligible is smaller, there is no magic formula to dating because your in a rural and not an urban area. You just have to be out there somehow, in person, online, whatever, so you can meet and connect with singles.
Where is LowOnLuck? I want to hear her perspective.
