OR it is a myth and they don't actually exist in the first place (insert light bulb here). it is just something they say to lay on a thick guilt trip or play the 'poor me, I'm a nice fellow card.' In other words it's a load of bullsh*t, LOL. I make a whole blog post about the 'nice guy myth' btw.
Unfortunately, just as I was getting comfortable adopting my new, "confidently aloof" persona, along came a girl that brought the nice-guy chump in me back with avengance. The worst part is that she's no longer in the picture anymore. Thus is the reason #2 why I'm likely to die alone.
Reason #1? Whenever I see an average-to-somewhat attractive looking guy with a girl I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole.
There is no such thing as a nice guy. The very definition of the word guy is "a person of grotesque appearance." It's original meaning comes from Guy Fawkes who set out to blow up the British House of Parliament. He was unsuccessful and was tried and sentenced to be hanged and quartered. The British people hated him so much they celebrated that he was unsuccessful by making effigies of him and burn them on a bonfire. These effigies were called "guys."
Only in America could a person get away with going around calling other people this very demeaning word.
I just wish people would learn what this word means and stop spouting it out several times a minute. It has been used here so much that it has come to mean a group of both sexes. ONLY IN AMERICA.
