There should probably be a side note to say for people who are looking for white partners. In minority majority (or near majority) states, maybe CA or TX, the answers might be a little different.

I know, I've done a color wash before.

I just hate to do anything permanent until it's necessary. I don't mind my natural color since I have a ton of highlights, but when it comes time to get my color from a box I figure I'll try something different.

So jealous that my sister has them. All I got was a chin cleft.

I think it's still the most commonly preferred combination, but I definitely am not attracted to blondes with blue eyes. I like dark haired women with darker eyes.

I have a cleft chin also. Handed down from my dad.

I always hated it when I was a kid...now I don't even remember I have it until someone points it out.

I had no idea until that day you do the genes thing in elementary school and talk about recessive traits.

I was the only one in my class with that one. I apparently got loads of recessive traits. Attached ears, type O blood, and nearsightedness.

My 2 cousins have 2 each, so there was only 1 left for me, I guess, but I'm fine with it. Sometimes a little asymmetry is good.

I like cleft chins on most people! It's just like a dimple!

Personally, as a black woman, I am happy that a slightly broader range of "beautiful" is being accepted these days. We have a long way to go, but for someone like me, aspiring to be something impossible, would cause a lot cause a lot of low self-esteem.

Growing up, I didn't really take a lot of stock in trying to look like my dolls. And eventually I got a really cool handmade doll that was supposed to look like me, and be my own personal cabbage patch. She had black hair, brown skin and brown eyes!

I felt sorry for the girls who bought into that, I always thought it was better to find your own beauty and enhance whether than worry about some trend in beautiful, where the odds were, it wasn't going to look like you anyway.

Not everyone is going to have straight blond hair, and blue eyes. And Blondes tend to age the worst anyway. Better to have darker hair and coloring, you'll stay looking young forever.

Ha, I didn't know that black dolls hadn't been around for long. You're right, it is sad having to compare yourself to something you'll never be.

Yeah they are really new! Mine was handmade frmo my aunt's neighbor, but they didn't really start until the 70s-80s. Black barbie was a sham. She was basically a brown colored Barbie. No difference in facial features or hair or anything. And she didn't even get an good backstory.

I remember when Addy came out, the black American Girl's collection doll came out, in the late 80s, my mom was so excited. We were too old for dolls, but she still bought one for my sister. It was really for her and her sisters (all of my relatives came over to see it). They were all really excited.
