Hi everyone. Im a 25 yr old male living in Florida, and I have a 22 y/o Bahamian girlfriend and we love each other with long term plans of being together. Last year she graduated from the College of the Bahamas with a Bachelors in Science. She lived here in the US for a year with a family member who is a citizen here, but she had to return home recently and now shes back in the Bahamas at her parents. Her plan was to go back to school and get a bachelors in medicine, and she prefers to work in the medical field even though she considered dentistry and teaching if she had to.

Unfortunately it turns out due to her not being a resident here and unaffordable costs of American schools she is shooting to go to the University of West Indies in Jamaica because its less than 1/2 the cost per semester. She still hasnt gotten her acceptance yet, and some of the other med schools didn't accept her because they want a 3.5 gpa were as hers is a 3.2 (sh1tty) and now shes not sure her next move. Her father wants her to work in Nassau for a little and maybe they will accept her later, her mother says they should save up money so she can go to school in the US, and ultimately I think her parents want her to become US citizen (dual citizenship?) which shouldnt be a problem if me and her get married as I know she'd much rather be here with me than in Nassau...

Although I told her that regardless of where she ends up I am willing to save money to frequently visit her as much/long as I can as we had already made out a little plan to minimize time apart if she did end up in Jamaica for 4 yrs.. She is open minded to many different places and lifestyles, and I ultimately want to leave the US and do a lot of traveling as well and I'm willing to relocate for her and vice versa if we can support ourselves well enough, but obviously there are obstacles; besides there are many things that I do not favor about the US and I dont feel any major attachments to remaining here for my whole life...

I'd like to hear some input from some of you here if you have anything to offer to this thread, any type of suggestions would be fine. For example-
-First off, if you'd like to share any personal experiences,or thoughts on a long distance relationship like this.
-Thoughts on credibility of finding a decent job &/or transferability with her Bahamas Ba in Science from. What other job areas should she look?
-Thoughts on her going to Jamaica Med school & its transferability, & safety of Jamaica.
And or anything else that could apply here for either of us to consider... I appreciate your time and input...
