I heard this many times, but I still believe a good guy friend is the best way to go. If a woman trusts a man then she can open her heart to him. And it is very true some men just know the right words to say.

But most women are not going to be up to making the approach themselves. If you get eye contact, or a smile, consider yourself in. She wants you to come over and chat. Say anything!
So if you already know what you want then why not go get that guy instead of wasting your time and keep having dirtbags approaching you?

Eye contact and smile is common courtesy in USA regardless of sex.

Relax. Don't over think it. If you want something more than one night stands then guide the relationship in that direction and get to know her through meaningful activities. (Meaningful activities: volunteer work, painting class for couples, cooking class for couples, art exhibit.......places that make you interact and talk without distraction)
