I'm sure it prevented me from getting more dates when I was single. I've always hated dating, though, so not getting dates wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I prefer quality over quantity. I only need one good guy who finds me attractive, and I found him.
I have yet to see a fat guy trash talk fat women here, but I routinely see the reverse. Perhaps you can link me to an example?

If guys in general bash fat gals it's a reasonable conclusion that fat guys bash fat gals as well. Perhaps you're under the 'woe is fat guys they have it so much worse and would never bash a fat gal'

It's not a reasonable conclusion at all. You're being lazy, and you've admitted as much.......
I've been overweight my entire life, albeit that is only a couple of decades. I have had zero luck with women. This is also partly due to my standards being high. I'll be completely honest here, I almost expect girls to like me only for my personality, where as with girls, I want them to look good AND have the personality.
I would submit that other overweight people do the same. NOT ALL, but a good amount if not a majority.
I think its only fair that if I continue to aim high, I should try to lose some weight and make myself more appealing. Some people say "but you dont want someone who only likes you for your looks alone anyway!" Thats true, however if the initial attraction isnt there, they'll never give your personality a chance.
