My husband went jet-skiing today. He was gone for 5 1/2 hours. When he got home the first words out of his mouth were "I lost my wedding band out there somewhere".

Now, his ring has been loose from day one. He did not want it any tighter. Usually when he goes swimming or boating or jet-skiing he takes it off & puts it in the glove compartment. For whatever reason he did not do this today.

How angry would you be with your spouse if he/she lost the symbol of your undying love?

I think I would be very sad and mournful but not terribly angry. People make silly mistakes all the time. Just be happy you have him and that he told you.

I'm single/divorced. I'd give him the benefit of doubt. My ex would throw the ring at me, so, I finally kept it and never gave it back to him again.

If he was less upset and concerned about it than me, then I would be really mad. If he is obviously upset about it, then I would take it easy on him.

Well considering my husband has never lost his (he never takes it off) and I am on my third set I guess I wouldn't be mad at him. Then again I think the best symbol of our undying love is that we are committed to staying together through good and bad times.

My husband lost his and did not know where. Like yours, his was always loose, but he did not want to have it sized because in the summer his fingers would swell up. Anyway, he was tearing the bedroom apart one day, and I asked "what are you doing", well he gave me this look like his insides were sick, and told me he would tell me later. He did, and his pain was more intense than any anger I could summon up. We got a new ring, and he has had it fall off while sleeping more than once, he always finds it and now he always tells me what is wrong because I did not get mad. Our love is deeper than a material ring.

Thanks guys. I was not really all that mad that he lost it, but more at his attitude about it.

I wouldn't be angry, just sad. Then I would take him to the store and make him get another one right away. Pick something up for yourself too while you are there.

That is just exactly what we did. We are fortunate to have a Zales Outlet a few miles from here. We replaced his ring with one that actually fits (imagine that), and he bought me a beautiful wrap for my solitaire.
