I just received hair extensions in the mail, wore them around while doing errands yesterday. I thought they looked rather silly but I guess not: a guy approached me and hit on me! We exchanged numbers and he has asked me out. So what do I do about my hair? I gained about 5 inches with the extensions!

Men: would you prefer I show up with my shoulder length hair for our date, or should I wear the extensions and remove them on a future date if we hit it off? or is this a "who cares" situation?

women: Has this happened to you? How did, you handle it?

Is it really just like wearing high heels and Spanx?

I think this is likely a "who cares" type of situation. But some of that depends on your original hair length.

You mention you have shoulder length hair naturally which is still long hair, So I would just go as you are with the extensions if you like them and feel comfortable wearing them. It's not fraud you are simply wearing an accessory in your hair. You can mention the extensions later this is not a deal breaker at all I think.

Enjoy the date!

I probably wouldn't care if I was interested enough to date you. But where does it stop? Today it's fake hair. Tomorrow some women will be getting fake boobs.

So many women (of various races and ethnic backgrounds) wear hair extensions/weaves/wigs/clip-ins/etc that it really should not be a big issue.

I wouldn't think it to be a big deal. Women change hair styles all the time.

Damn, I apparently need to work on reading comprehension. It's definitely a "who cares" given your hair is already shoulder length.

I wouldn't say anything about it.

So, this is a "who cares" situation.

Probably a "who cares". I think extensions are so common they are like push-up bras and heels.
