I met this gentleman on match.com several weeks ago. I am not going to lie, besides his good looks, I DID notice his income level on his profile says $250,000/year. The very first night we talked on the phone, he told me the following,
"By the way, Lily, I have to tell you, I am not making quarter million dollars a year, my income level is actually $85,000/year. I've been told by my friends that in Southern California, women only talk to men who make over six figure, and I just want women to contact me and I believe I can win her over with my charming personality. Sorry that I lied, but I want to let you know the truth right away without leading you on. I can understand completely if this is an issue with you, but I hope you can be a little bit open minded about it. My intention is not bad."
Well, to be totally honest, him making $85,000/year and him making quarter millions a year make absolutely no difference to me. I can understand his point of wanting more women to contact him, maybe exaggerating his income is his way of getting women's attention.
I still talk to him from time to time, and I am undecided if I really want to pursue this relationship If you were me, would you give him a chance? Let me know, thanks.
Yes, I would certainly not let that bother me...not a bit. But I would also tell him that I thought he was wrong (as far as what women are interested in).

Right. Will it bother you because he is insecure about his income though? Just curious.
I understand. But men don't have to do that to get women's attention though, this is the thing.
It feels like that sometimes. He also said that his friends told him to do that, so it could also be a bit desperate and some peer pressure.
