Several women I know avoid military men/police officers like the bubonic plague. I can see their reasons why...

I don't think I'd ever be interested in dating a lawyer, blogger, corporate lobbyist, politician (or any public figure), or any other profession that lends itself towards narcissistic/sociopathic tendencies. On the flip side, I do want my partner to have some ambition. I wouldn't be opposed to dating a waitress, but I'd want them to actively working towards whatever it is that they want to be doing in life.

Mortuary assistants.

Prostitutes.

Dictators.

That's about all the professions I wouldn't date. Anything else would be fine .

I would think an OBG YN would be tough for the ladies.

Me personally:

Psychologist (always analyzing your actions/answers), bank employees (yeah they are checking out you AND your checking acct!), strippers (fun for a minute but way too much drama), lawyer might be tough (thinking about coming home late/lying.....nothing like cross examination while drunk/hungover)!

I don't think I ever avoided any occupations when dating. However, I was definitely drawn to those in the military, law enforcement, emergency services, etc..

I kind of knew I wouldn't be compatible with artists such as writers, musicians and the like, but I didn't cross them off immediately.

I'm the exact opposite!

I never avoided any professions but being an artist myself - I dated a lot of people in the business. I think it would be too hard on me to be with someone in a dangerous profession. I'm a natural worrier and I'm not sure I could handle it. My main relationships were with an actor, a guitar player, and a stagehand!
