I feel a bit lost on this.

College is going fine, but work takes up everything else, still haven't dated. The friends I run around with are rednecky drinker types, neither of them have jobs, one of them has no trouble drunkenly getting girls, but the other is brainy in his own way so we get along.

The only thing counting as fun in this backwater little burg is going to wild parties and bonfires out in the middle of nowhere. I haven't been to many lately because the other guys I know pretty much ended them. Since then I haven't been invited to many. But I've found that some of the churchiest and nicest girls around here are some of the worst offenders in drunken craziness. Either that, or they are already married or taken. The last girl I was attracted to recently, she's really nice, a teacher too, but she's a few years older than me and already has a boyfriend. Just my luck, but she and her brother good friends though.

I still get called "sweet" and "pure", too. Not like that helps.

Kid, that sounds awful! Where are you located? Weren't you doing online classes, while you waited to get into regular college? Maybe your situation will change in the not-too-distant future?

P.S. Get new friends. Except for the teacher and her brother, they sound pretty good.

No worries…all in due time..
You seem like a good “kid”..someone with his head on straight..
It is refreshing to hear a young guy state “College going well and I work a f/t job”
I know how frustrating it may seem to have life be all about college and work…but you are young…
School is a temporary station of life but you will not regret it..
Once your higher learning is done and you finish? You will have a chance to see where your life can take you..
You may find that life is not where you reside now…
You will have nothing to tie you down..

You may decide to start saving money from where you work and decide to go on a long overdue life experience like traveling to another country…
Getting lost somewhere abroad, meeting NEW exciting people you my never have hd the chance to do if you your friends..
Moving to another state for work…the liberty to pick up and go with no baggage…
Do not sell yourself short for something you feel you are not getting now..
Bigger and better things my be awaiting you..
Good luck in all your future endeavors..

I don't know your backstory, but these sound like good (and rare) qualities to me in a guy. Then again, I get called those things too! Hang in there.

I'm taking a degree program that my Community College provides with Arizona State University. One of my above mentioned friends is about to jump into it next year.

Ruth, I'm still living in this small town, at home.

Go through some of my post history. Especially in the beginning of 2012, I've never personally considered my self sweet or nice, but alot of people call me that because I seem to have a look.

Well, I've always wanted to see stuff across the US and Canada, I keep seeing friends going off to foreign countries like Australia, Switzerland, China and such...but I'm still stuck here.

Thank you anyway, dr74.

"Sweet" and "pure". Churchy girls who go wild. Sounds like you live in a conservative religious community. Just an observation.
