How much do you care about your SO's happiness?

Consider this question especially when in comparison to caring about your own happiness.

Of course I care about his happiness - I find that an odd question.

I won't be happy always making ME happy, it makes me happy for him to be happy. This only works well because he is the same way.

I'm always striving for win win situations because I want both of us to be happy. I care his happiness almost as much as my own. But knowing he's happy makes me happy too.

How could you be in a relationship and not care about your loved ones happiness? I also find this an odd question. My husband's happiness is always paramount in my mind.

I don't have a current significant other, but when I love someone, I am as invested in my happiness as I am in my own. Otherwise, what's the point? It's just part and parcel of being someone's partner and caring about their welfare.

I'll use this old saying (originating in the southern region of the country?) as one of the reasons I like to keep the DW happy:

"If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

Happiness is paramount. Sometimes making others happy makes me happy so I do. Sometimes making others happy would make me unhappy, so I don't.

Making my wife happy always makes me happy, happier, happiest. I wish to be happy so making my wife happy is self fulfilling really.

While I realize it's completely anecdotal, I do not know a single person in my life that's in a relationship that doesn't care about their SO's happiness. If you don't care about someone's happiness, that's not even a friendship, let alone a relationship.

I guess it's just a completely bizarre concept to me. Much like many of the other posters, my SO being happy actually increases my own happiness and vice-verse.
