It's possible that many of these men are just more vocal? A lot of my aunts got married and were "chubby" or "thick" size 9/10/11/12 women and their husbands love them nonetheless.
There was a study done not too long ago and I wish I could find it that showed that when asked what men were more attracted, women often chose a skinnier female than what men chose as "ideal". The same went for men who when asked what women were more attracted to, they chose a more macho looking man than what women found ideal. So I think a lot of the battle is us looking out at people who look like us and striving to subconsciously outdo them somehow.
A couple of things to note:
1. The obesity rate in the US has gone down in recent times to 33% (it was higher before)
2. The OP mentioned getting married to a larger woman, which is different than a smaller woman becoming larger AFTER getting married.
I have been watching several bridal shows lately and have noticed many of the brides were chubby or downright obese.Some were marrying obese men, some were average men and this interested me. Why see so many comments from men saying they want to date only thin women but yet even larger women get married. Incidentally my sister in law is large (size 18)and my thin in shape athletic brother fell in love with her regardless of her size. Some men love the inside.
Wouldn't make sense that fat people usually marry other fat people.
Perhaps because the physically fit guys she'd previously been with, turned out to be absolute sh*ts? So, are you saying that thin/attractive/physically fit women couldn't be attracted to a man, simply because he's a really decent, nice person? Nice...... real nice.
