Not if I liked it which in that case I'd just marry the guy fulfilling my contract of the engagement then divorce him as the contract didn't state I had to stay married to him.

She should give it back.

That said, Mario Williams is an idiot for getting himself into this situation in the first place.

When my husband and I almost divorced, he wanted the wedding ring back. Legally, I think I have the right to keep it. Meaning I will win in keeping it if we did went through divorce settlements. Interestingly it's us talking about the wedding ring situation that made us reconcile.

Oh by the way the price of my ring is laughable as in pennies compared to engagement ring price in here $800k?! you must be sh-itting me!

Legally, it depends on the state law. Not all states consider an emgagement ring as a conditional gift.

  • Conditional Gift States:
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • New Jersey
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Wisconsin
States Where an Engagement Ring May Be Kept:
In these locales, an engagement ring is considered to be an implied conditional gift and if the guy breaks the engagement, he won't get the ring back. If he doesn't break the engagement, he can request its return. Bottom line: If you get dumped, you get to keep the ring in these states.
  • Implied Conditional Gift States:
  • California
  • Texas
  • Washington
States Where an Engagement Ring Can Always Be Kept:
Other courts have held the belief that an engagement ring is an unconditional gift and so it doesn't need to be given back.
  • Unconditional Gift States:
  • Montana

Normally I'd say she should give the ring back, but it's really really hard for me to feel sorry for anyone who spends a million bucks on gifts for someone they're dating. If you're going to throw away your money, accept that you won't get it back.
