Today I finished reading one of the most fascinating stories I've had the scary pleasure to read on the unethical behavior that took place in the scientific/medical community base on the Hela Cell as they are known in the science community. You read some books and you have to pull back and remind yourself that if not for every sick evil human being there are many more people on the other side of that coin battling for the good of what's left inside hopefully the majority of humanity.
Took me a good week and a half to get through this book "The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot, but in the end, I understood why the author laid out the story as she did. Not an easy read, but it was well worth it. I'm notot a history or science buff an important piece on both counts IMO. When I say not an easy read, was painful to focus on all that was going on in the story, so took long breaks, but once I got to the halfway point, pretty much couldn't put it down finished in a day.
I think you'll like this book I came across it via the book thread on CD.

I'll have to see if I could work this in.....I've been on a roll lately with stuff of this nature lately....... crazy world we live in when you actually open your eyes and stop being distracted with the nonsense that is being thrown at you.
Hey TRosa I think I stumbled across the dog you saw. It's a Tibetan Mastiff:
Close enough in how it looked, but that person featured with it is kind of small, the dog would have been bigger I'm sure, more like Grizzly Adams big.
