This thread is the counterpart. Men, what percentage of women who have approached you did you turn down? Also, share why you turned them down. Include online dating site contacts only if you identify them as such.
I was asked out twice in high school. Didn't turn them down explicitly, but I kinda just evaded their efforts by coming up with bogus excuses why I couldn't hang out with them 1-on-1. And they weren't physically unattractive; I was just a shy and socially awkward guy who didn't know how to respond.
As for me asking out women, I'm 0 for 3 since I first tried in college, though I must say my attempts were half-assed and pathetic.
I've been approached a few times. I turned down an overweight girl in high school. Ironic, isn't it? I've really changed a lot since then. I turned down a girl who approached me while I was in a committed relationship. When I was 24 or so I turned down a girl who had really bad teeth. I do my best to not be shallow, but bad teeth are my greatest weakness.
All the rest have been contacts I've declined on internet dating sites. All the other women who approached me in person I at least conceded a first date. This is not a huge number of women, mind you. 3 or 4. So I guess I'm somewhere between 35-50%.
I agree, I've read their posts and took a sneak peek at pics....are you guys sure that you are not just distracted and miss it?
