Which is a subtle way of asking you what you do and how much you make.
Oddly, I've never had women ask me this question, online or in real life. They might ask to describe generalities about my life of work, or solicit feedback on whether I find work to be satisfying, but never will they venture outright with a question about money. And if I raise the question of money, however casually, they turn away in discomfort.
Typically, the response that I receive is: "Thanks for contacting me. I really love your writing! But our values just won't click. Best wishes...."

It does seem like a sneaky way of seeing if you are happy with the money you are making LOL
heh, I've had guys write me just cause they assumed I was interested, just cause I viewed them, whether that was true or not. Although, I am guilty of viewing a profile, liking it, and not writing cause I like to be pursued first. but I have initiated first at times.

well a person only clicks on a profile 90% of the time if there is some attraction

Not necessarily. the thumbnails picks don't give away enough information so sometimes if i'm curious about his other pics or what he's about, i'll click on the profile. If I don't like his other pics or he seems like a douche, I move on.
There have also been times when I've viewed a profile more than once but still wasn't interested. For example, he might have changed his profile pic & I didn't realize I'd viewed him before.
Yep, same here. I rarely received a response back though.
