I do, at base, feel that relationships should be equal. That partners should have equality within the relationship.
But we all know that there are relationships in which one partner is more dominant. Many of these entail the man being in the dominant role, but there are increasingly FLRs (Female-Led Relationships.)
Sometimes this is just an organic development of roles within the relationship. Sometimes one person sort of takes charge and subjugates the other. Sometimes one partner or the other has a desire to be dominant or submissive and actively seeks out partners that will fulfill this desire.
Some are based on kinky BDSM-type sex.
What do you all think? Anyone here in a relationship in which you are in a primarily dominant or submissive role?
Is this by choice or just how the relationship developed?
Are you happy or satisfied?
Are there people here who would LIKE to be dominant or submissive in a relationship but are maybe embarrassed to approach the subject?
Are there people who feel a person of one gender or the other is, or should be, the dominant partner in a relationship (that perhaps one gender is innately superior to the other and should take the dominant position?)
I was in a short relationship with a man who introduced the idea of me being his submissive all the time, not just in the bedroom. It was fun for a while, but I'm way too headstrong to be a sub all the time. I don't think it worked out to his liking.
