that you stop using protection? or suggest to your partner that you have sex without a condom? or do you just hit it raw from the start, and take a chance?
Personally, I cant stand condoms, but I'm not about to risk my health. I need some type of conformation that she has been checked for any sexual pathogens before the gloves comes off (i.e. recent STD test) Ill go as far as pay for the testing myself (I definitely wont take her word for it) we can even take the test together; which usually happens when I get seriously involved.
Ask me to test together, I'll do it. The key when you bring this up is to not talk to her like she's a dirty **** that you might need to protect yourself from. Your language and tone is important. Make it a together thing and speak as if you are in the same boat as her, but want to do what responsible people do and start with a clean slate.
IMO you also need to have a discussion about unintended pregnancy as wel. "Gloves off" involves more than STDs. Everyone is responsible for their own body but leaving all birth control measures to her is also irresponsible.
Definitely not take a chance from the start, too much nasty stuff out there. I think time varies depends how much you trust the other person. Also depends what other form of BC is being used. I think a few months but varies. ..
Never, probably. Men can't be tested for HPV which can give women cancer, so even if everyone is 'tested', STDs can still be spread.
In addition, whose to say your partner won't cheat and give you an STD? It's happened to a few people I've known over the years, and that's how they found out their partner was cheating.
