The silicon Valley type of nerds are very attractive, because they are intelligent, motivated, and educated. Those are all very good qualities in a man.

Personally, I would not go to a party where I would not be admitted unless I dressed up like a hooker.

I don't know if the sponsors of the party genuinely expect Silicon Valley Nerd women to dress up like Madonna, or if they think that the nerd men wills show up because they are expecting to see a lot of skin and spiked heels (that won't be there, but hey, once the entrance fee is paid, no refunds.)

take a look at this silicon valley halloween party these guys are getting criticized primary because it was themed "hackers and hookers", like they should have known better.

Hookers And Hackers Is The Least Surprising Tech Party Of All Time

I just might fly out for this barn burner. $10 for all you can drink beer. I might be the only guy standing after the first hour.

Did you even read the flyer? Hooker is just the name. You can dress however you want. If it's like any other Halloween party, 99% of the women will be dressed as hookers anyway.

This. As a woman in engineering, I already have to deal with enough sexism at work. Crap like this is just the icing on the cake.

I don't care enough to be offended by it, but I would think it's a dumb idea and probably not be interested in anyone who thinks it's amusing or fun. It does strike me as stunted and juvenile.
