Why should we assume that finding a mate in college is a preferred way to go.
Statistics show that marriages at ages much older than the typical college grad tend to last longer, be happier, and have a far less likelihood of divorce. Getting tied down as an early twenty-something is statistically shown to not be the best way to go for a long and lasting marriage.
There is very little good reason to pressure people into finding marriage partners on top of focusing on studies, as well as establishing their careers all at once before age 22.
Well then, thats when you skip the STEM degree guys & try to hook at least a professor. I used to take a class where I sat front row, with my legs open, no undewear. You know how well that ended!
The idea is that they get their foot in the door early with a guy BEFORE he starts making money.
Gold diggers look for people with wealth for immediate gratification, not looking for someone with possible future potential who might lavish them with material things in 10 years.
The OP knows very little about Europe. In the North, at least, female labor force participation rates are very high, whether they go to a university or take a vocational education. A fulfilling relationship is a higher priority than marriage in much of Europe. Furthermore, women are far more independent by law and by desire than in the US.

Yes, this has been my impression of European women, UK women and Australian women.

You're a woman?
I hope you at least wiped the chairs down after class.

This reminds me of people who go to church just to find a husband. Ugh.
Except that most churches start out with huge female majorities, and the men there are more likely married than in any other social setting.
But it's kind of like selling a house in December (which I'm trying to do right now): Very few people looking at houses, but those few tend to be serious about buying. There are darned few men in church looking for marriage, but those few tend to be serious about it.

Well I see what you are saying. Maybe I should not have said marriage but ""a partner"". Yes in a lot of Western Europe its not frowned upon to be a ""baby mama"" as it is often by choice but in the States, if you come across a ""baby mama"" its because grapes went sour & she got dumped. My point was American women VALUE marriage a lot yet they seem to NOT actively pursue it. It''s just a fantasy for most till they are on that last egg, then they start panicking & wondering ""what if""
Someone said something about going to church to meet a husband. Its still not mainstream American only African Americans have that as part of their culture.
