It's not that men age better than women, it's just that the bar for physical beauty is higher for women, it would appear.
I also think that when a woman is young and all done up and ready to go out on a Saturday she can look really great. When a woman is much much older she can still look good, but it just doesn't compare to a 24 yr old woman.
I guess can't explain it properly but it's the contrast is magnified more so than in a man. If that makes any sense.

Come on Chow, I typically give you credit as a man of reason but no way, on this. I see a 24, 26, 27 year old woman, and I'm sorry but I see a girl. Someone who has likely only dealt with boys, naive, and inexperienced.
I'd rather have a woman. And a woman who looks like a woman, a couple of laugh lines, a body that looks like it has had kids, and then kept up with them. A woman that has been blessed with the wisdom of the real world. That woman is going to be so much more attractive to me. Helen Mirren, Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon all much older women I wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers.
The 24 year old girl, probably wouldn't even know who Jim Croce is. Not to mention, I think it would be to easy to jedi mind trick them.

I think there is more contrast in men. I think of the fit, younger men that I know and compare them to the fat, balding, sloppy older men...yowzers!
I think women have more at their disposal to camouflage "imperfections" as they age with clothing choices, make-up, beauty regimens...etc. where men really do not.
Here's the thing, OP, it doesn't matter if "men" become more desirable with age or not. It depends entirely upon the individual. Saying that men get better with age won't make some guy who has let himself go seem more attractive. Have YOU gotten more desirable? Well, we don't know you.
I think the optimal age for men is late 20s to early 30s.
Your pool consists of all of the post college single women in their 20s mostly all the way up to the stragglers in their 30s.
By late 30s, your pool has shrunk significantly. Most women your age will be married, and you'll be too old for a lot of women in their 20s. Of course, women have to deal with it too.

I'm not sure where this is coming from, I did in no way endorse or state that I liked younger women better than older ones, matter of fact I've always been with women that were older than me.

I think I was thinking along the lines of camouflage the "imperfections" I think that is more with what I was thinking.
