Sex lives come and go for most people. I've had hot streaks when I was never waiting too long in between partners and occasionally even had some overlappers. Have also gone for long periods of time where I'd scarcely remember what to do with a naked woman. A lot of it is life situation. Some periods of life are just unsexy and other periods get you firing back on all cylinders.
I don't have sex as I'm a heterosexual gal so for me that would mean being f-ed by a guy and considering the most likely lack of pleasure and orgasm it doesn't hold interest for me and then tack on the risk of rape, STDs/STIs (gals twice more likely to get than give), and pregnancy and I see no reason. As well as I find masturbation > sex and vibrators are way better than the male body.

Very true. Repped. Sometimes I'm just so pre occupied with other endeavors it isn't a big deal.

When it rains, it pours, does seem to be true.
For men it's all mindset and effort, which is correlated to libido. When it's "pouring", what really happened is that you were in the correct mindset during that time period to put in the effort to make it pour. Single men have to actively choose to have a sex, which is why it comes and goes for men. Often times men just don't have the time or energy to devote to something that requires active management. Single women have to actively choose not to have a sex life, since guys will be persuing them regardless. It's easier for them to maintain a semblance of a normal sex life with much less active effort. Whether it's a good sex life with the kind of guys they want is of course another issue.
