But I am surprised to hear you have never heard of the idea, especially on this forum where so many guys say they would never marry a girl who makes more money than they do, etc.

For an idea of how prevalent it is in our culture, take a look at the studies that show how the very same girls do so much better in math, if they are moved to all-girl classes. Suddenly they don't have to pretend to be dumb.
Well, yeah, I've heard it in books from the 1950s. In current life, I've never heard any advice to pretend you are less smart. That's actually hilarious, and an insult to both men and women. Sorry, most of my girlfriends are pretty successful, and that's not something to hide.

I've definitely encountered this before.

there's a rational reason for men not wanting to pair up with higher-earning women.

but when you say that there's a:

I think that's nonsense.

Women are allowed that. Because, you know, they're entitled.

How about being bullied by girls. From my personal experience in school, girls were far worse bullies than boys. Boys might play rough, but in the end many were able to come towards a friendly agreement. Girls who are bullies snicker and pass emotionally damaging comments behind a guys back. Has anyone here been hurt by this before and know how it feels. I HATE catty behavior and would rather prefer playing rough.

Uh, there is? I'm glad to be irrational. Most women I date earn 50% more than I do on average.

Yeah, so what. I cant keep fighting like rambo, if that's what you expect from all men.

Men have a softer side too you know, they just fail to admit it.

I openly expose my softer side, and keep my harder side in reserve. You will know my toughness when needed.
