Someone who manipulates for their own motivations.
To which, it is. Not alway apparent when they are doing so. Some people will go to incredible lengths to keep secrets and hide behaviors.
Not letting your spouse get a job because she might be around other guys
Getting angry if she shares different views
Passive aggressive behavior (quite possibly the worst out of anything)

Can you give a concrete example?
Like, if I got angry at my mom for nagging me to go to practice 10 min before start. Is she controlling me?
Because right now, I am picturing Charles Xavier from X-Men using his telepathic powers to freeze you from moving your body.
Is that what controlling is?
It can feel like that in that kind of relationship.
A controlling partner is more like someone who tries to dictate your behavior; e.g: where you can go, when you can go, who you can talk to, what you wear, etc.
Basically, a controlling person is insecure and regularly oversteps boundaries. In a controlling relationship, the person being controlled is basically reduced to an object.

or am I controlling her for me getting angry?
No, she is being annoying and you are getting triggered. Nobody is controlling. But your life will become more fun if you learn some skills for managing your emotional reactions .
A controlling partner would forbid you to go to practice, or hide your car keys, or go with you to make sure you did not talk to any girls... stuff like that. Crazy stuff.
"Are you wearing that dress out? You look like a tramp."
"Give me your phone. I want to see who you've been talking to."
"You're not going because I'm not going."

How does one dictate where you can go? Say they don't like it when you go to the nightclub with your friends.
What happens if you do it anyways? Does the partner have some magical power that stops you from doing it?
