I was wondering how many of you have dated someone you met online?
1. Was it is through a dating site, a forum like City-Data, or another type of website?
2. Did it lead to a relationship?
3. What was your age and the other's age?
Thanks!
He posted an ad in the Craigslist personals (I responded) and we dated for about a year and a half. I was almost 27 when we met and he was 23 (he lied and said he was almost 25, but it's not like I really cared. haha)
1. Was it is through a dating site, a forum like City-Data, or another type of website? It was through a website not intended for dating. We were both on a forum, and he decided to chat with me, and we instantly became friends. We were friends for a year before pursuing anything.
2. Did it lead to a relationship? Heck yeah.
3. What was your age and the other's age? He was 22 and I was 20
Before I got married, on Facebook I saw a picture of one of my sister's friends. I was like damm, she grew up to have some tig ol bitties, you gotta hook me up.

Usually through dating sites, but the most recent case was accidental.
We're both writers, and about 10 years ago, we started to notice each other's writing on various websites for which we had written content. I was thunderstruck by the way she expressed herself, and for reasons I can't explain, she evidently was impressed by my own work as well. So we became friends, and...

...about 6 years ago, we became a couple. 3 years ago, we married. Neither of us has ever known a happier, more fulfilling time in our entire lives, and it still gets better every day.

She was in her mid-20s when we met, and I in my mid-40s. She's now in her mid-30s, and I'm in my mid-50s.
Other online relationships were all with women closer to my own age - usually 2 to 4 years older or younger. The longest of those relationships lasted about 2 years, and the shortest about 6 months. I'm still friends with most of those women, and at least one of them is quite possibly the best friend I've ever had in my life. An absolutely wonderful woman; we just weren't right for each other as a couple.

I had a LDR once with someone I met online. That didn't work too well for me and taught me that I don't like LDR. I don't have any issues with meeting someone from online who is local.
