I have come across this a few times. A woman will list her age a few years younger on her profile and then state on her profile her true age with the statement "I'm actually X+5 but I listed X so that I show up in the searches"
Do you think this sort of bait and switch is acceptable? This same woman then goes on to say how important morals and values are to her. Does values including what I would consider essentially lying?
I don't think it is acceptable however, I have never lied about my age to anyone or my weight.
I don't care enough about someone else's opinion to make it matter and it has nothing to do with morals.

No, it's not acceptable. A lie is a lie. "Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive" and all that.

I think it is honest but terribly sad. Basically what they are saying is that they think they have to settle for a man who is so un-self-aware (and has such issues about his gender) that he excludes women his own age from searches. They are saying they have given up on finding a decent man.
Was it on plentyoffish? There are age restrictions on there that don't make sense to me, so a lot of people have the wrong age listed so they will show up in the searches of the people they're looking for.
It's always women over the age of 35 that lie about their age and women of all ages fudging their weight online.
why would would an online site ask about someone's weight? I feel that's kinda rude. I never been on an online site so I don't wanna judge but seems pretty absurd.

That's a little manipulative.. so yeah that sort of bait and switch is not only unacceptable, a tad over-the-top creepy.

I should have said body type. Average being 15-30 lbs overweight, thin being average, athletic can also be significantly overweight. Obviously BBW's can't fudge their weight.
