If two people were having a movie and pizza night date, would it be okay to use a 25% off code when ordering online?
Could you take your date to the zoo to take advantage of a holiday discount?
Buy an engagement ring at a Valentines day sale?
Haggle with the Real Estate Agent on the purchase price of a new home?
Making your money go further so you could have more experiences/things/money is not "being cheap".
...Being cheap is not paying tip to the pizza delivery guy.
Are these pressing questions for you, OP?
Of course you could use a coupon. But IMO, the kind of pizzas availably by coupon aren't very good.
Of course you can take her to the zoo or a museum to take advantage of a discount, or a free pass day.
If you get the ring on sale, usually, the fiance doesn't tell her he got it on sale. They choose a ring, then he waits for it to go on sale. Or she gives him a general idea of the style she likes.
Everyone haggles on the purchase price of a new home.
