I see no problem with a couple expressing appreciation for other people's looks and attractiveness.

But to project this to your SO to make them feel inferior.. that's terrible.

This is childish... I would vote to move on. No one needs their ego and self-confidence beat down like that. Wish him luck finding that "perfect person"... it doesn't exist.
