People like spontaneity whenever it comes across as being witty or creative, when you're more or less acting in an entertaining way with zero latency to the situation. However, some people are just obnoxious when it comes to this...inappropriate comments, bad jokes, ideas that bog things down, etc.
Spontaneous is unattractive when it takes people for granted. Like people who call on their way into town for dinner, and expect you to drop what you're doing to join them. Or people who drop by your place to include you in their activity for the day with no warning, when you're tied up with a work-related project, or you're waiting for your gf to come over. If the spontaneous last-minute invite is habitual, it's a turn-off.
