I never thought video chatting was such an issue. If a woman gave the option of video chat, I'd take it, if she wasn't sure about meeting up yet. It certainly beats looking at text all the time.

This^. I don't like to do video chat but never come across guys who resist it so much like OP. I would think unless he is hideous or a fake that he'll be more willing to video chat when it was the girl who initiated.

Like some one explained it something u don't when you are far away and won't be meeting face to face. Like a pen pals or long distance relationship.
