Have any of you ever dated someone that only wanted to date a certain religion? Like a guy who was Jewish and only dated Jewish girls, Christians who only dated Christians etc.
I've not really run into this from men with any particular spiritual affiliation, but I have encountered it among atheists and agnostics. Most only are interested in dating others with the same views and beliefs.

Because it makes life much easier....why would you want to date someone that spends much time and money on something like that?
However I have found it's mostly the over religious types that won't consider anyone other than their own brand of religion....or their families that pressure them into doing so.
I have my beliefs. Others have different beliefs. That's fine. When you degrade me or what I believe, it will not work. By that same token any respect I may want I need to give.

If you are serious about your religion, most likely you want to date for marriage a woman with your own beliefs.
One of my most serious relationships was with someone of my congregation. Actually she was the only one I introduced to my mom, but I also date outside that circle.
My best relationship was with a woman not from church, but from another one.
In Christian beliefs there is no such thing as "dating". There is a book from Joshua Harris "I kissed dating goodbye", relationship is to find out if two people are compatible for marriage.

So you speak for all Christians? That book is ridiculed by most out of the right wing fundie protestant crowd.

I 've dated people that would only marry their religion, but it would not be a barrier to dating.
