In Christian morality, you cannot have sex until marriage, I'm a little bit liberal on that matter, specially with christians who may have most of my beliefs but aren't that into the church.

The book talks about the "courtship" stage.
Lol....Most of my friends that are Christian are Catholic....a few that even try to be MCTTP (but are still pretty nice people).....and they all hate the book. The alternative to the wierd 'courtship rules' is not a sexaul free for all.

.The only ones that seem to like it are the quiverful Duggar worshipping types

Sorry what is MCTTP ???

The book was interesting...ain't agreeing with all of what Joshua Harris said...but still I think he gave interesting concepts overall.

Harris says "courtship" is a stage between friendship and a serious relationship. He bashes "dating" which is ridiculous, but I understand his principle.

However I won't discard the whole book anyway.

It's only a huge deal if you make it one. I'm atheist, the Hubs is christian (and an ordained minister to boot), and it hasn't posed a problem because neither one of us trying to "get our own way" with how our kids are raised. I have no qualms with them going to church, and I even go with them when my schedule allows for it. It's such a non-issue that I don't even think my kids even know that I'm not a believer; I don't hide it or anything, but it's also not something I feel the need to advertise.

And if you just choose to ignore that, they get confused because mommy believes in allah and daddy believes in the flying spaghetti monster, grandma believes in zenu, etc

I've dated all types of religious (or non religious men)and my best relationship was with a Southern Baptist. However we broke up because our views are so different but we still chat. My boyfriend is Catholic as am I and it works the best to have the same values and beliefs.

I just looked up that book and it seems strange. I believe friendship is essential and I see nothing wrong with going out with others but some of the other ideas are weird. Actually the one priest at church even said a couple should go out on dates before marriage by themselves. He wasn't promoting sex obviously.

Actually I am...I know my catholicism very well, don't agree or do everything, but I'm very familiar with everything: birth control, abortion, the pro life thing, Pope Francis, etc.

Don't know about you but I'm in Neocathecumenal Way, a strong movement in the Catholic Church

I wonder what or why? The book is written from a pastor's point view, but from a christian morality standpoint, it's very accurate.
