I'm 51 yrs old, and have 4 sons aged 31-25. Maybe some of you YOUNGER GALS CAN LEARN?

My oldest son, aged 31... well... a month ago, his 'live in' girlfriend decided to move out. Now what exactly was their problem? I really don't care! It's none of my business and the LAST THING I WANT IS TO GET INVOLVED WITH MY SONS LOVE LIVES!

For whatever reasons... my son is still texting her, trying to 'reason' with her. In otherwords... he's NOT willing to move on. He is trying to fix the problem! OK... I give him credit for that. Again... it's his business and I'm staying out of it!

New years Eve I lost my job. Magically... I'm unemployed, and that son lives an hours drive away. He's also a workaholic, and a single Dad of my 3yr old granddaughter.

Now granted.... in his defense.... the house (yes... he's a homeowner)... the home was getting rather.... ummmm.... as a single Dad of a toddler.... HE NEEDED HELP! and since I'm magically without a job? Guess what? I have plenty of time on my hands to HELP HIM OUT!

Heck... he was even kind enough to give me one of his Credit Cards, that basically paid for my gas, cigs, whatever... and I drove up to his place almost every other day! I was cleaning, and cleaning, and washing dishes, and doing laundry.... and mopping floors. Then there's the basement, and that busted window!

I don't mind.... he is 31yrs old, working massive OT, trying to be a single dad to a 3yr old toddler. I'm actually thrilled I got to spend some time helping him out, for a change.

It's like a week later... and the ex-gf... that he's trying to figure out how to "win back" starts going psycho on him! I mean.. the text and emails, and conversations... PSYCHO! SHE COULD PROVE that my son has some sort of girl spending nights at his house, because the gf claims she has all her friends telling her about this *red car* that is there ALL THE TIME!

When my son mentioned the RED CAR.... I just sank! Ummmm..... guess what I own? A little Ford Focus RED CAR!

My son has tried everything he can think of.... trying and trying to talk sense into her. Do you think she will believe any of this? NOPE! She has it stuck in her head that my son is lieing to her.

Somehow I just became my son's *supposed* other girlfriend.

Part of me wants to laugh. But I see my son in such pain, for being accused of something SO WRONG!

You young girls really need to *get a grip on reality*. The older generation will get a kick out of this story. You younger generation need to ..... STOP BEING STUPID!

I think that's funny. Maybe he should text the ex a photo of you next to the red car?

Better yet, he might be lucky she's gone.

What a strange tale. Let it go. It's hard when relationships end. He will get over it.

Why all the caps? All capital letters means you are yelling.

I think you are an awesome Dad, and if he has any sense at all he will keep you and let the GF go.

Tell your son to go dark on her, and she will come back begging. Thats when he should kick her to the curb.

Sounds like he's better off without her, to be honest with you. You shouldn't really get involved, through...he'll figure it out himself eventually.
