He must have done something, because he seems to be moving forward a bit on several fronts: he reached out to a woman, and actually got a positive response ( ), he's got a better job, and he has a plan for getting his education back on track, and has been taking classes online to that end. Bring us up to date, OP. Any improvement in your weight-loss goals? You've been going to a gym, or just hanging out on a body-building website? You'll feel better, and depression will improve, if you get your body moving and do even a brief workout session at the gym 3x/week. But we probably already told you that before.

Good luck. Keep up the forward movement. Give yourself credit for having achieved at least this much. Build on that, gradually. So you have a new job, is that right? Or are you job-searching?

Those are all steps forward, I agree. I was mostly wondering if he was working on his emotional health more pro-actively (besides exercise, which I know is critical for mental health), such as meditation.
