A thread asking men not to cold approach women got me wondering how people meet each other successfully. It doesn't have to be an official relationship like marriage or boyfriend / girlfriend.

How did you meet the person you are seeing?

I met my husband at a public pool.

Like I said on that thread and a few others: I cold approached her. We went on one date, but for a few reasons we were unable to continue seeing each other. Later that year I drunk dialed her. (Classy, I know. She didn't answer because she was stoned...) A couple days later she called me back, and the very next day we went out on our "second" first date. That was October, 2005 and by February 2006 we were married.

PS: She doesn't smoke pot anymore. Just to clarify. It's not compatible with my career and when I told her so shortly after we started dating she stopped doing it.

Chatted her up at a breakfast joint I go to on the way to work. I seen her there and talked with her 5-6 times before I asked her out.

At a friends and family gathering at my house. She and I talked for a while there and really hit it off. Best day of my life!

Cold approached her at Nordstroms when I went to buy my sister a birthday present. We were both browsing the same department.

My first wife, I met when I used to host a very popular private yahoo chat room....I kid you not. My room had a handful of marriages and b/f-g/f's that originated from meeting in that chat room. If anyone remembers those private rooms, I had mine running full for over two years straight...lol The longest distance that turned into a marriage? Ireland to Florida, still married 10 years later. I started writing a book about those years, they were very interesting....lol

Technically through friends since my friend pushed me toward him in a bar. I reeled him in by ordering fries with ranch dressing at a pizza joint and refusing to share.
