and now there is unseemly gossip. Uh...there may have been a tasty beverage or two involved as well.

I live on a barge in a remote part of Alaska. Well, actually, I work here and when we work here, we have to stay out here. Every now and then I escape for a couple of weeks but then I go and buy something extravagant on E-Bay or some such and have to come crawling back to work to pay for it. I fell victim to a certain watch not long ago...

Anyway, here I am. I am not interested in kissing all the boys out here. All this involved was, uh, conversation. Well actually there was more but I didn't go all the way.

The sneaking around is part of the thrill. The only problem is is that no matter how quietly one sneaks, there is always someone quieter sneaking after you and the next thing you know you are the talk of the cafeteria at breakfast.

It's hard enough to be slaving away for E-Bay cash and to pay off your Nordstrom bill without without all this silliness about who's sneaking into your room at midnight. You'd think these people would be fast asleep by then.

Ah, who cares what these other people think? You are a grown woman, and what you do is YOUR business, I believe. And whats more, I for one, am very happy you had some company for an evening. If I were you, I would take great delight in letting these nosey, (and probably jealous) people wonder, and speculate among themselfs. I say you should hold your head up high, and even act a little secretive about the whole thing. That will really get to them! I sense you're a little miffed about all this, so I guess I'm not much help. Cause I'm very happy you can have a bit of a social life in the environment you describe. I say: You go girl!!

Well, if he does, here is a thought. While those carharrt cover-alls can be warm, those "armstrong" heaters work well, AND tend to perk up our spirits as well!

Dennis, you just made me google "Armstrong heater", so that I wouldn't feel like the dense hick that I am because I didn't know what it was.

And here I thought it was perhaps a fun item of apparel.

Nah, these are some of the oldest, and simplest heaters in existence. His two strong arms wrapped around you, and your two strong arms wrapped around him, and MOST of the time the heat thats eventually generated is enough to make people forget how cold it is. For a while anyway...............

You live on a barge full of men in a remote part of Alaska?

I would expect you could have your pick of any of them, have a man in your bed every night, have plenty of nice clothes to wear, and not have to worry about any Nordstrom bill.
