I've been talking to this guy and want to get to know him, but he text me late and ask me to hang out all the time. I always have to say no because I have school or working. I realize we could get drinks after I get out of work at 11. I'm not sure what to do.

Sounds like he has plans of possibly being intimate with you since he is trying to see you so late at night for a first date.
I would hope he has plans of being intimate with her if he wants to date her, but your point is solid. He wants to get it and quit it most likely with the minimum amount of effort and resources.
