It's not about them calling too much. You would be amazed at how many scumbags use phone numbers they have collected to send dick pics when it is late at night and they are drunk and horny--Months after the fact, and sometimes in a group message to ladies in their contact list.
I need to get to know more about them before I give out my number to a stranger.
Any D pic I've gotten, while not welcome, was only sent to me, but I do see your point. Still, that's just more reason to block him.
Also... check your security settings on Facebook. I am sometimes shocked by the amount of personal information is available from people not friended. Also, some people's numbers are associated with their facebook account... running the phone number through facebook search will also yield their facebook account. Often that leads to a real last name, current town, and work information.

A few years ago, Facebook set it up so that anyone who had an acc't could automatically access the inside pages & info of anyone else with an acc't. I don't know how many FB-ers are aware of the fact that their acc'ts are an open book now.
I have a question though... It's a phone number, which I'm assuming in 2016 means cell phone. What safety?

I was thinking that, too. My facebook page has my full name and some identifying information. My phone number is more anonymous. And it's not like a landline number where someone could potentially get my address from it.

I HATE it when i ask for a number and a girls gives me her FB name or says " email me" like jeez! just save me the trouble and tell me you don't like me! OR ( this has happened to me several times) She gives me a number and i call it and she tells me " oh thats my other phone i have 2". LOL the excuses a woman will make to not talk to a guy!
I think I'd rather give a guy I wasn't too interested in my number rather than my fb name. I can ignore a text or a phone call, but if someone is friends with me on fb they'll have access to my pics and posts....no thanks I don't need some stranger seeing my business!
If you are not too interested in a guy why don't you just say NO when they ask for a number?
If a lady didn't give me the effort of a phone number, than I take that as a sign they aren't interested. It's so easy to exchange numbers now as we all have our own personal phones.
