For most of the relationship advice I have read it has been suggested that women need to wait for the man be in the right mind frame to settle down. Or if women don't want to wait they can just leave. Regardless the man remains unchanged, if hes not ready to settle down he will not.
What would you say is the common age that most men are ready to settle down vs women?
Depends on what you mean by "settle down." It can mean different things to different people.
For me, it just means a monogamous and serious relationship. For many women though it means marriage, babies... the whole enchilada.
In my family, it's become more common to be together for a decade before getting married than to only date for a few short years before marrying. Maybe that's because so few of us make babies anymore - ha!

Men: Early 30's
Women: Mid 20's
I got ready very quickly at 24 when I found myself pregnant. My first husband is still not ready at 37.
I am 37 and have given up the hopes of settling down with a partner. The guys in this area, have either been, there, done it, and still wounded or have no desire at all. Or already partnered up with wonderful women.
With few exceptions... and with "settle down" meaning married...
Women in their mid 20s and men in their late 20s.
