I wouldn't know. I don't like eating left overs.

If kids aren't involved, I don't see the point in remaining contact with the ex.

I kept in touch because we shared a dog, but we stopped talking almost 2 years ago.

I wonder how the dog is doing, the ex not so much.

I've kept in touch with exes where it was a fairly amicable breakup. One of my best friends is an ex of mine. It didn't happen right away, but over time we both felt that we could salvage a friendship from the situation, and we did. It doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for us.

Nope. Except for my daughter's mom I have no contact with any exes. Not even my ex-wife!

I totally agree unless there are children involved or any type of legal binding obligations or agreements, I see no reason why one should remain friends with their ex. ....they are your ex for a reason honestly, whats the point of continuously trying to torture yourself emotionally.. you deserve better which is why you decided this individual is going to be your ex,remember? lol

Sometimes people are great as friends, not as a couple.

I have kept many of my old BFs as friends. If they were good enough to become romantic interests, they were good people. Sometimes, they were simply not compatible as long term partners, but they were really good guys.

Some of them have gone on and married others but are still friends, some are still single but still friends. I care about them, but I am in a happy, long term, permanent relationship. But that doesn't mean I don't want to keep my old BFs as friends.

I always try and keep friends but once you sleep with someone you can't undo it and it's too hard to have the both of you be content with a platonic relationship. Seeing them with other people in the future is also just weird.
