Not that I am looking for a divorce but a woman at work who is getting a divorce was talking about her having a divorce party. She was really upbeat about it and actually asked me and a few other women if they wanted to join. I declined because I certainly don't think a divorce is something to have a party over but I looked online and apparently it really is a thing.

I know her husband made a decent amount of money so I am sure she got a nice amount and probably alimony as well. Seems quite bizarre to me, has anyone had them?

She sounds bitter. Poor thing.

It's not something I did, but I have no strong feelings about it for others. Whatever feels right to them and their own situation.

I would imagine if you wound up in an abusive relationship, you might celebrate it ending. People cope with things differently & you can never really know what goes on between other couples.

People can do whatever they like, I suppose.

And if she is unwise with whatever money is hers, she can always celebrate the next Labor Day.

That's probably why she's celebrating LMAO!.

No seriously though it's probably just a symbolic way to say goodbye to the past and wave hello to the future

I've never heard of it and it does sound the ultimate kick in the teeth for any partner. If I knew both parties I'd never attend but if only the one then I'd attend as its important to them

I hope they don't have kids. What a crappy message that would send.
