Our Daughter called wanting to know if we wanted to go to Orlando in May.Said they all was wanting to go to Disney World but one night just wanted the Adults to go out and if me and my wife would take care of the 7 Grandkids.

My wife said sure but we weren't interested in Disney World and thought we would spend that day on the ocean. All was good.

Well next day my wife got notice that her company was shutting down.So she calls our Daughter and tells her there is no way we could go.Our Daughter come unglued on her said it was just an excuse Like my wife made plans on losing her Job so she couldn't go.

But like my wife said she probably had plans on sticking us with the Grandkids more than was said that this is probably why she is so mad.

Nice daughter. She is not interested in the fact that you wife lost her job. Not good.
I'm sorry that happened.

Sorry about your wife's job loss. In regards to your daughter, some people, even our own flesh and blood, can be too selfish to see the reality of things. Maybe she will come to realize that this is not about her.

Once - my mother asked my grandmother to babysit me. My grandmother's response was.......

"I raised my children. Now you raise yours".

I would suggest that if you WANT to babysit your daughter's litter in the future that you inform her that it will be $12 per hour, and you are giving her a discount rate because she is family. And stick to it.

The question here is this: Does this happen all the time or was this just a one time thing?

Makes a big difference..

Hill, so sorry about your wife's layoff...hopefully she will find work soon.

Sounds like your daughter is just being selfish right now and hopefully she will gain perspective before it damages her relationship.

Well if she really does have 7 kids, I think she might of been really looking forward to going out by herself for once. Nevertheless, you are not obligated to take care of her kids. May is a long way off, and by then maybe your wife found another job. Perhaps your daughter should apologize and be nicer.
