If you're scared of rejection and won't do anything, then may I ask what your purpose for creating this thread is?

He sent you an e-mail.

Who knows what his intention is. It could mean something, it may not mean something.

The only way you will find out is by going back there and asking him out on a date. Or at the least emial him back asking if he would like to go out.

If you can't do either of these, what else do you hope to achieve? That he somehow asks you out one day?

Many people get scared and nervous asking others on a date or trying to get to first base. That's nothing unique or special about your case.

I emailed him asking if he was single. He just emailed me this:
Who is this? The gal from match.com with long island request? Ha

(That was me...I asked because it was a beer and wine bar and I'm stupid)

Send and email and say, heh. I thought you were nice the other night when I was at the bar. Would you be interested in grabbing drinks? Include a pic in case he doesn't remember.

He gave you the email, what is it going to hurt? Not interested are just words. Nothing lost.

Why talk this way about yourself. Who cares? Own that you didn't know that. Now you know. Just brush it off, its not a big deal. Don't project or think you are stupid or other people are going to pick up on it and think it too.

So it got stranger and stranger. We texted briefly and it was the most confusing conversation. He called me and I spoke to him. I basically got told that he's seeing someone but that he wants to hold on to my number. That was basically the end of it.

Nice, cute, older guy with a nice smile. I left him a review on Yelp. He messaged me on Yelp and said:
Thank you for your kind words..this is Daniel the bartender from (name of restaurant) on March.com night...

Any reply is welcomed..here is my email address.

Does it sound like he is interested at all, or is he just trying to be nice? I'm interested but I'm afraid I probably am looking into this way too much.
I yelped a hotel I liked....the owner messaged me, thanking me too.

I highly doubt the bartender (esp where hes the owner!) meant anything more than that...
