Then again I also seem to remember that nerdy, geeky, and even anything to do with computers would get you shunned until around the time the X-Files came out. Then it was sort of OK to be a geek.

PDA is just a lame condescending way to show someone is getting laid I think it's a good thing people don't show it.

Totally agree, it adds to a setting to have flirting going on. It creates an ambiance. A charge in a room.

This is what I'm sayin'...it's all so cynical these days. People make a connection, get physical...and it's 'condescending'???

And who said anything about getting laid? The point is: it was low stakes; just fun. You hooked up with a girl in a bar...and that WAS the end game (at least, it could be and that was just fine).

In a world that seems so devoid of love at times, two people showing affection to each other reminds me that sometimes things aren't so bad.

I certainly don't think they are doing it with the intent to make everyone else feel awkward or like crap.... that just seems like self-reflection on the observer's part.

Sorry I'm lost how did a PDA work then?

I remember when Bluetooth first came out that was " awesome " as you would say ...... Sending messages to random people in the hope they were women.... But that was around 2003 ish I think... Not the 90s

You can make a connection with people without trying to suck someone's face off.

Yup. There's a tasteful level of affection that doesn't make most reasonable people uncomfortable.
