I take it one step further, and ask to meet at one of those pay-by-weight frozen yogurt places. Most women like frozen yogurt, so they usually agree to it. And it's less than $5 per person, about the same as a beer in most bars (which not all women like). Not that it'll bankrupt me to meet my new date somewhere nicer, I just don't want to spend my money, only to get the old "I didn't feel a connection" crap in the end. Plus, it thwarts the serial daters who use OKCupid et al. as a free meal ticket.

"Just friends" means each pay their own way. Sure my friends and I pick up the tab for each other, but we are friends, not acquaintances.

I wouldn't go for the "just friends" if you guys met on OLD. That's not really a place to make friends. I think POF had a friends option? If that was the case, did she state in her profile she is looking for friends?
